On our first mission in Guayaquil, Ecuador (and in South America) we were able to see 115 children during our screening day.  We were able to screen all of the kids that showed up, and each and every one was a highlight of the whole day.  We were extremely excited to help many of these kids during our week-long mission, and we will return to Ecuador later this year to help the rest.

Our local partner, Fundacion el Cielo Para Los Ninos, was instrumental in bringing our team to Guayaquil to help children with cleft lip and palate.  The Fundacion brought Kael Zurita Villafuerte to our clinic, and he was among the first seven kids to receive surgery.  One might say he was one of the reasons we are able to create smiles for our patients and their relatives, and to transform their lives for the better.
