We’re into our fourth surgical day here in Accra and we couldn’t be more happy with our progress so far. Even though this global team came together just five days ago, we are firing on all cylinders and working live we’ve known each other for decades. The staff at Greater Accra Regional Hospital has met every need and the hospital itself is well equipped, while the Accra-West Rotary Club has made sure we are comfortable and fed.
Cleft lip repairs have been the majority of our work, but we’ve also completed six palate procedures. Innocencia Baba, a two-month-old, was operated on yesterday after her mother traveled alone for 17 hours with the hope of securing a procedure for her. As you can see in the photos below, the results are stunning.
We say it often – every child deserves a smile – but so do parents. There are no shortage of smiles going around this week and it’s thanks to donors just like you!
