In March 2018 the Sagaing 2019 mission was scheduled. Linda Phillips was to be the Ward Coordinator along with her nephew Darrell Daugherty who is the mission’s OR Nurse.

Sadly, around Thanksgiving Linda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died on Christmas day 2018. Linda had volunteered on several missions in various roles as she loved children and had a passion to help them in any way possible.

AfS volunteers remember Linda as a woman who enjoyed travel, biking, and playing with and helping children. Darrell, his extended family, and AfS wanted to have Linda remembered in a special way so this mission is dedicated to her memory.

The two quilts were made by Linda’s daughter-in-law, Cheryl Phillips, and Linda’s sister, Leanna Daugherty, Darrell’s mom. Darrell will choose two children to each receive a quilt in Linda’s memory.
