After 5 full days of surgery the team took a well deserved day off and headed north. The area we visited included exploring the confluence, where the N’mai and Mali rivers meet to form the Irrawaddy.

We also visited the Maina Camp for internally displaced people outside of Myitkyina. Marla, founder of Myanmar Kindness Group has built a vocational training center for the residence of the camp. This includes massage therapy, hospitality and small engine repair.

6th Day of surgery… The team was eager to get back to work… Another Day, Another Smile. We
had eight patients ranging from 17 months to 7 years. We completed 3 palates, 4 lips and one
combination.
