After a great team meal Sunday night and a little pow wow to get things ironed out for the week, we got settled at Hotel Marida.
We got an early start on Monday and went straight to the hospital where we screened 133 patients. From a one-month-old to a 50-year-old.
Myitkyina General Hospital is a sprawling, government run facility and their staff has been extremely welcoming and accommodating so far. We have also greatly benefited from the Kindness Foundation’s volunteers.
It truly takes a little compromise from each party to make these things work, and we are headed in the right direction.
Surgeries begin tomorrow! We will start with 11 cleft lip operations.
